MASAFEE relentlessly refined its oil disposal services over the years, enhancing factories’ productivity while developing a process to convert waste into high-quality, eco-friendly base oils that meet global specifications for producing industrial lubricants .
With its distinctive approach to integrating recycled materials in lubricant oil production, MASAFEE has successfully expanded its market, exporting products to clients across the Africa ,Europe ,Asia ,South America and Middle East.
The company's refining technology is among the most advanced globally, supported by stringent quality control measures. These practices minimize the environmental impact of refinery operations and have helped MASAFEE secure ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
OWNERSHIP
Masafee is currently 95% owned by Gulf Chemicals and Industrial Oils Company (GCIR), along with a 5% share from Mahmoud Mohamed El ASHI, it’s considered the key player in re-refining and recycling waste lube oil, with a factory based in Suez, Egypt that’s capable of recycling up to 24KTA of waste lube oil annually.

GLOBAL PRESENCE
MASAFEE’s credentials and robust capabilities have significantly contributed to its operational expansion locally, and internationally. The company's re-refined base oil products are now exported to seven countries in Africa, five in the Middle East, and three across Europe. This success is largely attributed to Egypt’s strategic location at the crossroads of three continents, which reduces transit times. Egypt's numerous trade agreements that provide customs exemptions for locally manufactured products also enhance MASAFEE’s competitive edge, offering a high-value proposition in the global market.

MASAFEE has successfully secured all necessary authorizations and approvals, thereby ensuring full compliance with Egyptian legal regulations: • Approval of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation for the activity of refining recovered oils. • Permanent operating license (in advance system). • Industrial registry certificate with a capacity of 60 thousand tons per year. • Added Value Tax registration certificate. • Tax card. • Civil Protection Department approval. • Environmental approval for collection, trading, and transportation. • Environmental approval for oil refining activities. • Industrial Control Authority license. • Civil Protection Department license.
